WAVECOM led the SUPERIOT medical use case demonstration, Demo 2. In healthcare settings, such as hospitals or clinics, it is essential to know the locations of patients, equipment and staff in real-time, and IoT systems are already finding roles in state-of-the-art systems (including through WAVECOM products). Such systems need to be adaptive and reconfigurable, and also involve some environments in which the use of radio communications is not permitted. The dual-mode nature of SUPERIOT technology and the integral flexibility of RIoT-node based networks could offer an advantage in future systems.
