SUPERIOT will hold its first webinar on WED 29-May-2024; 15:00 CEST.
This free 60 min webinar will outline the objectives of the project and give a short update on some early results regarding truly sustainable IoT nodes.
A public presentation on SUPERIOT is now available from the project website Objectives page. This detailed but approachable summary of the project topics provides a great way to understand the concepts and targets of this ground-breaking project!
Further to the previous post, we can now report that SUPERIOT researchers are part of the organising committees for two of the Special Sessions at CSNDSP 2024 (International Symposium on Communication Systems, Networks and Digital Signal Processing; 17-19 Jul-2024, Rome, Italy)! These are both very well aligned with SUPERIOT topics and the call for papers is open.
Please find out more on the website! The key dates are: • 1 March 2024 – Full paper submission • 14 April 2024 – Notification of acceptance • 30 April 2024 – Camera ready submission • 31 May 2024 – Registration & payment
As part of CSNDSP 2024 (14th International Symposium on Communication Systems, Networks and Digital Signal Processing; 17-19 July 2024; Rome, Italy), SUPERIOT researchers Hélder Martins Fontes (INESC TEC) and Konstantin Mikhaylov (University of Oulu) are part of the organising committee for the Special Session SS1 – AI for Wireless Network Modeling and Optimization. This topic is very well aligned with the SUPERIOT RIoT node network optimisation work.
Please find out more on the website or from this flyer!
The second SUPERIOT newsletter has been released and is available here. It contains updates on the following research topics: -Developing sustainable conductive inks at NOVA -Substrate testing for printed electronics at INESC TEC -Standardising DNNs compression evaluation at University of Bristol.
This week, SUPERIOT researcher Ph.D. student Yasser Qaragoez (KU Leuven) presented his paper on “Time Division Duplexing for Enhanced Simultaneous Wireless Information and Power Transfer via Backscattering” at the 2023 IEEE MTT‐S Latin America Microwave Conference (LAMC2023). If you have any questions, please get in touch!
Two SUPERIOT student researchers, Yasser Qaragoez (Team Leader) and Khodr Hammoud, are part of a KU Leuven team which has been selected as a first-stage award candidate at the 2024 WPT Student Competition, which will be held during the IEEE Wireless Power Technology Conference and Expo (WPTCE) from May 8–11, 2024, in Kyoto, Japan. Their proposed sensor network utilises a combination of radio frequency (RF) and solar energy, which are wirelessly energised by drones and LED lamps, thus contributing to a sustainable future for sensor systems.
Well done and good luck in Kyoto!
Student Team Members: Yasser Qaragoez (Ph.D. Year 4, Team Leader), Khodr Hammoud (Ph.D. Year 3), Jimmy Fernandez Landivar (Ph.D. Year 2), Nikola Antonijević (Ph.D. Year 1).
Advisors: Dr. Franco Minucci (ESAT-WAVECORE, KU Leuven) Dr. Vladimir Volskiy (ESAT-WAVECORE, KU Leuven) Prof. Dominique Schreurs (ESAT-WAVECORE, KU Leuven).
SUPERIOT held its 12M meeting this week, excellently hosted by Lightbee in Gran Canaria! It was a very busy couple of days, with great progress in all technical areas of the project.
Unfortunately, public groups on LinkedIn have very low visibility on search engines so we are moving the SUPERIOT presence to a new page. Please click on the link and follow the project! Thanks!!
