Third joint webinar on sustainable wireless design

Following the success of the first two webinars on sustainable wireless design, the three Horizon Europe and 6G SNS projects 6G-SHINESUPERIOT and TERRAMETA have teamed up to host a third event in the series on FRI 27-Jun-2025; 10.00 CEST.

The agenda includes technical presentations on several topics relating to sustainable wireless design, including: attention-based channel prediction, high-performance THz RIS communications and solution-processed materials. There is also time for a discussion and questions.

EN-IoT 2025 submission deadline extended to 22-Jun-2025!

EN-IoT 2025 (MON 22-Sep-2025; KU Leuven)
2nd Workshop on Energy Neutral and Sustainable IoT Devices and Infrastructure

This workshop focuses on the network infrastructure and innovative approaches to developing energy-neutral devices (ENDs) that operate sustainably within their environmental contexts. Specifically, the workshop aims to discuss typical energy harvesting sources, operational environments, memory and computational resources and materials selection for ENDs, to delve into key END-enabling technologies and to provide insights into specific challenges for the future. The workshop organisers invite researchers, industry professionals and innovators to contribute papers and thus advance the state-of-the-art in sustainable IoT technologies and practices.

Video of second joint webinar on sustainable wireless design

Following the success of the first webinar on sustainable wireless design, the three Horizon Europe and 6G SNS projects 6G-SHINE, SUPERIOT and TERRAMETA teamed up to host a second event in the series on FRI 14-Mar-2025. This event, which included presentations on multi-criteria optimisation in the network layer and power efficient cooperative communication was recorded and the video is available here.

SUPERIOT at IEEE FNWF 2024

On Thursday 17-Oct-2024, Tuomas Paso (University of Oulu), the SUPERIOT Administrative Coordinator, will give an invited presentation on the project at the IEEE Future Networks Forum in Dubai. Tuomas’ presentation will be in Session 2 of Symposium 4: Optical-wireless convergence: beyond Xhaul, enabling the communications-computing continuum

If you are at the event, please drop in to find out more about the project!
Session begins 14:00 local time in the room Gizza 1.

SUPERIOT hospital application video

SUPERIOT application video from Prof. Juha Häkkinen (University of Oulu).
In this 2 min video, Prof. Juha Häkkinen shows a preliminary example of how SUPERIOT may be applied to track resources, staff or patients in a hospital environment, using visible light communications. This is just one of the applications to be explored within the project, which will also address smart tags for business scenarios and various potential applications in rural environments.
