SUPERIOT shares some research topics with the exciting Horizon 2020 project MADRAS Advanced materials and processing in organic electronics. MADRAS will finish later this year with two demonstrators of plastic-embedded printed electronics: a flexible geo-tracking smart tag and a biometric photosensor fingerprint reader. Please check out the website for more info.
These topics are closely aligned with the SUPERIOT vision of ubiquitous IoT applications including widescale deployment of flexible and wearable products which are environmentally sustainable yet include advanced functionalities, robustness, durability and safety.
The 2023 IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM) will be held in the warm and thriving city of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from December 4th to 8th, making it the first time that the conference is being organized in this location. Themed “Intelligent Communications for Shared Prosperity,” the technical program will include 13 symposia, tutorials, and workshops, as well as an industry program featuring keynotes and panels from research, industry, and government leaders, business and industry panels, and a technological exhibit. Submit your symposium paper for the opportunity to share your research and ideas with leading experts in the field and be a part of the historic first GLOBECOM in Kuala Lumpur.
Last month, the SUPERIOT project was presented at the ETSI conference Maximizing the Impact of European 6G Research through Standardization. During the event, standardization strategies for the recently started research projects under the Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU) were discussed.
Project Coordinator, Prof. Marcos Katz, gave a short presentation on the project.
The 2023 EuCNC & 6G Summit builds on two successful conferences in the area of telecommunications: EuCNC (European Conference on Networks and Communications), supported by the European Commission, and the 6G Summit, originated from the 6G Flagship programme in Finland, one of the very first in its area. The conference is sponsored by the IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc), the European Association for Signal Processing (EURASIP) and the European Association on Antennas and Propagation (EurAAP), and focuses on all aspects of telecommunications ranging from 5G deployment and mobile IoT to 6G exploration and future communications systems and networks, including experimentation and testbeds, and applications and services. It brings together cutting-edge research and world-renown industries and businesses, globally attracting in the last years more than 1 300 delegates from more than 40 countries all over the world, to present and discuss the latest results, and an exhibition with more than 70 exhibitors, for demonstrating the technology developed in the area, namely within research projects from EU R&I programmes.
ETSI Research Conference: Maximizing the Impact of European 6G Research through Standardization
This face-to-face event provides an exceptional opportunity for the research community to come together with industry representatives and standardization experts to discuss future technology research and links to standardization developments.
Prof. Marcos Katz will present an overview of the SUPERIOT project at this event.
SUPERIOT held its kick-off meeting 12-13 Jan-2023 hosted by the project Coordinator University of Oulu (Oulu, Finland).
A warm welcome in Oulu!
It was great to meet all of the SUPERIOT colleagues after the recent gap in meetings due to COVID-19 restrictions. Lots of useful discussions were held over the two days, including during the visit to a traditional Finnish “smoke sauna”.
